Ingredients

  • 4 fresh salmon fillets skin-on or skinless, about 6 oz each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 lemon for serving
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Pat salmon fillets dry and whisk together olive oil, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and Dijon mustard for the glaze.
  • Brush the glaze generously over each salmon fillet.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and place salmon skin-side down in a single layer with space between pieces.
  • Air fry for 7-9 minutes, checking internal temperature as you approach the lower end of the range.
  • Remove once the salmon reaches 125-130°F internally and let rest for 3-5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Pull the salmon at 125-130°F internal temperature; carryover cooking during the rest will finish the job without drying it out.
  • Never overcrowd the air fryer basket, since this traps steam and prevents the glaze from properly caramelizing.
  • The white substance that sometimes appears on cooked salmon is albumin, a harmless protein, and staying within the target temperature range minimizes it.
