Ingredients

  • 2 shots freshly brewed espresso or 1/2 cup very strong coffee
  • 2 tbsp dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup barista-blend oat milk
  • Ice cubes as needed

Instructions

  • Simmer brown sugar and water until dissolved, then stir in cinnamon and vanilla, cooking until slightly thickened.
  • Brew espresso shots and pour immediately into a shaker filled with ice and the brown sugar syrup.
  • Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Fill a tall glass with fresh ice and strain the shaken espresso over the top.
  • Slowly pour barista-blend oat milk over the back of a spoon for a layered cascade.
  • Stir gently or enjoy as-is, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Shake for at least 15 seconds to build good foam and chill the espresso properly without over-diluting it.
  • Always pour the milk over the back of a spoon for the perfect layered, gradient look.
  • Use barista-blend oat milk specifically, since standard oat milk can curdle against hot, acidic espresso.
